Tilly Wheeler
Commerce Writer
Tilly joined House & Garden in 2023 as Operations Coordinator, subsequently moving up to her current role of Commerce Writer, where she focuses on shopping for the best and most beautiful pieces for the home. She leads on the testing of all sorts of sleep products from mattresses and pillows to duvets, bringing a wealth of knowledge to reviews and round-ups which help readers to achieve a great night's sleep. Tilly also researches edits of interesting and unusual furniture and homeware such as our top shopping picks for under £300, bringing a keen curatorial eye to everything she does. Since starting at House & Garden, she has enjoyed writing about design in film and television, having conducted interviews with various directors and production designers.
Her previous experience includes a role working behind the scenes at the BFI London Film Festival; prior to that, she worked in visual research for commercial film production and assisted set designers. She has a first-class degree in set design from Wimbledon College of Arts, graduating in 2021. Her taste in design is varied and eclectic, but she has a particular love for futuristic, somewhat kitsch design of the mid-20th century, citing Verner Panton and Ettore Sottsass among her favourite designers. When not working, you can usually find her in the cinema, at an exhibition or trying out the latest and greatest restaurant openings.
